School
workshops
Previous dance experience
is not required for any of our workshops and they are the
ideal way to involve your pupils/students more in Northern
Ballet Theatre productions and to unleash their creativity.
Workshops give a deeper understanding of narrative dance and
the company's repertoire and can be used to enhance your existing
provision of dance in your school. All our workshops are designed
to be fully accessible.
School
workshops are currently available to schools in the Belfast,
Edinburgh, Llandudno, Manchester, Nottingham, Norwich, Milton
Keynes and Yorkshire/surrounding areas (Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield,
Wakefield and Sheffield). If you are outside these areas it
may be possible to arrange schools workshops or projects,
subject to resources.

As well as one-off school workshops we can offer residencies,
projects and partnerships for schools who want to work further

Teacher
Inset
For teachers who are interested in developing dance in the
curriculum or exploring stories through movement. Whatever
you or your students level you will be able to take away ideas
and techniques to put into practice in the classroom.Acquiring
fresh ideas for warm-up exercises, creative tasks, choreography
and music, teachers will be able to use Northern Ballet Theatre
repertoire as an example to generate dance ideas which can
be transferred directly to their class room settings. The
majority of each session is practical and teachers are advised
to wear loose, comfortable clothing which they can move in.
